Stealth update? Ascalon growing back!
Hey guys, just wondering if anyone's seen this, I was walking through Ascalon City and I noticed it looked a bit... greener than usual. Here's some screenshots.
Maybe a stealth update? If so, I don't know how people will recieve it... Those "rebuilding ascalon" guys'll be happy though.
It's either an update or a promo thread for my new mod (I need to take a break from Dark Glass, it's not going to be abandoned though - I just need to do something different), the Tyrian Transformation Pack - Ascalon Phase.
This mod will re-texture the Ascalonian landscape to look more like it did before the searing. It's a huge job and I'm looking forward to it. Keep an eye on this thread for more info.

Don't worry, when the mod is finished, you'll be able to get this and much more (if you choose to run it).
It's still cool, isn't it?

Most misleading threadname and OP ever. I was actually excited, until I found out it was a mod. Meh.

Well, maybe an Anet employee will read this and realize this would be an excellent idea.
Maybe it would only appear this way if you own GWEN?
Could they do that in a town?

Well when programming a basic RPG, you'd need an entire seperate "room". This room uses a different portal number but the same portal. In other words, if I was to walk into the room of a man before his death, I'd use room number 32. If he was to die during the story, I'd make the same room only covered in blood and ruined. Same way to walk in, only room number 33.
Now Guild Wars uses far more advanced programming. I wonder if they'd be ABLE to pull off something where only you see the differences in a place and have people around you who don't see those differences. Off the top of my head, I can't even think of an example where this happens in Guild Wars.

Thread titles are meant to summarize what the thread contains, not completely lie about them.
IMO, this thread should be closed simply for the false title.

They should actually make the cities more dynamic. Use the seasons, and day and time shift. There should be a guildwars own time cycle. Which would be 24hous in perhaps 2 hours? We can only hope for that in gw2.
Or like gwen they can just reskin the atmoshpere textures. /endsarcasm
